“Good Government’s” ads in The Times (7/25/18) is funded in part by John Kavanagh and wife of Bart Shea, Park Place’s developer of the Avenue’s mostly vacant high-rise, and Cecil Yates’ firm is the leasing agent (RealYates.com). Their committee’s trying to influence our mayoral election by trying to tell us “Ginny Dickey opposes school safety” and wants to tax us even more than anyone else with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Most of us know better!

Ginny is a 35-year resident, two-term school board member and her three sons and many nieces/nephews were raised in our schools. The “training” was another nationally-covered media stunt orchestrated by Joe Arpaio, the guy who had to get a presidential pardon and cost our county millions of taxpayers’ money in lawsuits. Trainees were Arpaio’s posse. Featured trainer was has-been actor Steven Seagal, accused serial sexual predator who now spends most of his time in Russia as Putin’s personally-appointed citizen! The school had last-minute notice and many residents and media protested numerous concerns about this “training.”

Dickey supported the recent property tax issue, as did Yates! And it was Mayor Kavanagh, Yates and a unanimous council vote to put the tax on the ballot to begin with. So, when asked a question about other options in a public forum, unlike Yates or Kavanagh, Dickey responded with other possible solutions that the ad quoted out of context.

Yates has gone almost silent on the property tax, sticking to his “new revenue from development” mantra. Another $39,000-plus wasted secretive lagoon-type study, universally hated by townspeople? Another debacle like Avenue’s Park Place? A new backroom scheme?

Vote for Ginny Dickey, with a verifiable history of trustworthy public service, not self-service! (GinnyDickey4Mayor.com)
