Much has been written about both candidates for mayor, so I won’t rehash their qualifications or issues. But, I have known both of them for many years and worked with both of them on committees and commissions. I found both of them hardworking and focused in all they did.
But they pursued two different interests in all they worked toward. Ginny Dickey has demonstrated over and over that she works for the interests of the entire community. Always, always. I found that not to be true of her opponent. He always looked at the business interests first. If that intersected with the overall community interests, all the better. If not, residents and the community interests suffered. Ginny’s opponent’s interests may be sincere to his ideals, but not true to what is best for the community.
With that, I will vote for Ginny Dickey. I hope others will consider the candidates based on the same criteria.
