EXPO, State of the Town

Posted

For residents who want to know what’s going on around Fountain Hills, the State of the Town address and Activities and Volunteer EXPO are two can’t-miss events, both taking place before January draws to a close. But if you wish to attend the former or be part of the latter, then you’ve got until this Friday to get registered.

The State of the Town event is once again being hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, with Mayor Ginny Dickey’s address taking place at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, in the Community Center. The event is free and open to the public, but only if you register in advance. To register, simply visit fountainhillschamber.com. There will be a big banner for the event at the top of the page, with a button to “Learn More.” Click on that and you’ll find the option to register. If you’re interested in hearing about the community’s roadmap for 2019, this will be an opportunity to learn “what’s next” for Fountain Hills.

And if you’re looking to get more involved around the community, then the Activities and Volunteer EXPO on Jan. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., should also be on your calendar. At this event, local clubs, volunteer groups and organizations will be on hand to introduce themselves, hand out information and get to know folks who drop by their booths.

Speaking of which, if you’re one of those organizations looking to take part in the EXPO, then you also have a deadline of this Friday, Jan. 11. Any group interested in participating may complete an EXPO registration form from the Town website, fh.az.gov, and return it to Town Hall, attention Jennifer Lyons, jlyons@fh.az.gov. The EXPO has proven to be a great way for local organizations to recruit new members and spread awareness for their activities, so we hope to see all of Fountain Hills’ most active groups present and accounted for at this year’s event.
