Walter E. Snyder of Fountain Hills passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018. He was 81 years old.
Originally from Bethlehem, Pa., where he married his high school sweetheart Mary Ann, Walt graduated from Moravian College in 1959 and enjoyed a successful career in the surplus lines insurance business in Philadelphia.
In 1977, the family moved to West Chester, Ohio where Walt was appointed President and CEO of American Empire Insurance Co. In 1999, Walt and Mary Ann retired to Fountain Hills.
Walt was known for his passion for golf and travel, his wonderful sense of humor and the patented “look” recognized by all who knew him.
Walt is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Ann; his daughter, Cheryl and son-in-law Dan; sister, Jacqui; niece, Susan; step granddaughters, Jessica and Lindsay along with their spouses and great grandchildren, Calla, Max and Evelyn.
