Sharon Lynne DeGroot, 61, of Fountain Hills passed away on June 18, 2019 after a short illness.
Sharon was born on Oct. 14, 1957 to John and Dorothy Gaydos in Chicago, Ill. She was the second oldest of four daughters. Sharon graduated from Argo High School in 1975. On August 9, 1975 she married her high school sweetheart, Frank. Last year they celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Sharon and Frank were blessed with two daughters, Katie and Laura. They moved to Fountain Hills, Ariz., in 1987. That year, Sharon became a member of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering for Alter Guild, helping with Sunday school and vacation bible school, and knitting prayer shawls.
In 2004 they were blessed with a granddaughter, Emily. She cherished the role of being a grandmother and loved taking Emily to church and Sunday school.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Frank; daughters, Katie and Laura; granddaughter, Emily; sisters, Linda, Carol, and Kathy; and nieces, Lisa, Liz, Sara, and Morgan.
Sharon was patient and kind, she will be greatly missed. A memorial service was held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on June 23, 2019. Memorial donations will be received at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
