Rolland F. Lorenz, 87, of Fountain Hills died peacefully on Sept. 12, 2018. Rollie was born Jan. 24, 1931 in Lansing, Mich. to Rolland K. Lorenz and Viola (Drumm).
He was a graduate of Eastern H.S. in Lansing and General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich. Rollie was partner and secretary/treasurer of Lorenz Bros. Buick in Lansing.
On Sept. 7, 1957, he married Marguerite Jean Warren, and shared 61 years of marriage. Rollie is survived by his wife, Jean. He was preceded in death by brothers, John and Charles, and children Susan Lynn Lorenz (d.1983) and David Alan Lorenz (d.2005).
Rollie had been an elder in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of The Fountains, a United Methodist Church in Fountain Hills. He was active in Kiwanis Clubs in Lansing and Fountain Hills.
Traveling and cruising were favorite pastimes. Always a lover of horses, dogs, and cats, he volunteered at Fearless Kitty Rescue in Fountain Hills.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Fountains UMC on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 2 p.m.
