Posted

Roger C. Wade joined his wife of 63 years, Marshallie on Jan. 2, 2019, while at home with his family by his side. Roger served his country as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Cindy Backes of Fountain Hills; son-in-law, Bill Backes; son, Roger C. Wade, Jr. of Clairemont, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Susan Wade; granddaughters, Corie Rogers, Cassandra Wade, Larissa Wade; grandsons, Austin Wade, Jason Rogers, Aubrey Finn and Justin Moore.

Roger was involved in several civic events, attended seasonal musical events held at the local churches and private homes here in Fountain Hills, enjoying conversation and the beauty of music.

Roger was well received at the Elks Lodge of Fountain Hills, became a trustee and began a life-long friendship with the members, most notably remembered for the Purple Pig Program which generated additional monies for in-house projects and community events. Roger was also very active with local veterans programs and offered insight on committee projects.

Roger moved to Fountain Hills in 2015 after retiring as a Century 21 Beachside Real Estate Broker. A graduate of Cal State University Los Angeles, Roger held many positions as a “rocket scientist” at Aerojet General Corporation and Biological systems division, changing careers to become a manager of engineering department and facilities manager at Schlosser Forge.

Roger ended his career as president of Citrus Valley Association of Realtors, Realtor of the Year and a “key contact” to two CA Representatives in the senate and the congress of the United States. Dad.....Roger will be missed!
