Robert Eugene Bodenhamer was born May 5, 1932 in Everly, Iowa, to Elza G. and Elma Hopfe Bodenhamer. He was baptized in the Evangelical Church west of Fostoria, Iowa. He died May 24, 2019.
He served his country from 1952 to 1957 in the U.S.A.F. He is a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW.
He owned and operated four auto parts stores for 22 years and owned Midstates Builders, Inc. in Spencer, Iowa for 18 years.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bob fell in love with Chaparral Pines in Payson, Ariz. and their home was his sanctuary. He had a passion for cars and hunting. He also loved watching his NASCAR.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barb; his two daughters, Kelly Pedersen of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Valerie Silliman and her husband, Todd of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren, Sam Pedersen of New Jersey, Andie Pedersen of Arizona, Kailey Silliman Lynch and her husband, Jordan, Cortland Silliman and his wife, Carolyn and their daughter, Josephine all of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Gloria Lee Peterson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his daughters, Agnes Stoll Bodenhamer; his parents; one brother; Wayne Bodenhamer and his nephew, Doug Bodenhamer.
Anyone who wishes to make a memorial donation, the family suggests the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
