James Bissell Carson

Posted

James Bissell Carson, aka Papa Jim, aka Papa Carsoni, aka Big Fat Grandpa, left us at 6:47 a.m. Nov. 28, 2018. He was loved by all who knew him, especially his adoring and wonderful wife and best friend, Patricia (Stricker) Carson, his son, Patrick, his daughter, Missy, and their families and basically everyone in his life.

In his last days he talked a lot about the people he loved and who mattered to him, not least of all, his ace-pilot John Baldwin, his besties at Safeway, his pool man, Eric, his friends at Anytime Fitness, his family in Zihuatanejo, and many others who he’s going to be pissed that we didn’t remember here.

He was so proud of his father, Robert Bissell, who served in WWII and made the ultimate sacrifice, and of his wonderful mother, Jane, who raised him with humor and joy. He loved his wife, Patricia wholeheartedly, with whom he’d spent the final 27 years of his life.

He lived life with no regrets; well, just one that was noted on his deathbed: He was disappointed that President Trump was going to likely outlive him.

We’re going to miss him. Services will be private.
