Helen was born on November 18, 1931 to Lucas A. Chovanec and Mary J Chovanec (Frinak), one of nine children, in Yukon, Pa.
She is survived by her sister, Irma Chovanec of Yukon, Pa.; her brother, Edward Chovanec and sister-in-law Lee of Henderson, Ky.; her brother-in-law, John Auer and sister-in-law, Linda of Mesa, Ariz.; and several nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
A funeral mass will be held for Helen on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Church of the Ascension, 12615 N. Fountain Hills Blvd. in Fountain Hills.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Carl.
Helen was a great lover of animals and devoted to her Brittany spaniel, Maggee. Donations in Helen’s name can be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
