Gloria (Cookie Cleary) Busquaert, a 24-year resident of Fountain Hills, made her peaceful transition on Sunday, Dec. 9, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Cookie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mike; her daughters, Jennifer Pinegar (Adrian Morrison), Lisa Abel (Shaun), Tracy Nielsen (Eli,); her parents, Fred and Gloria Melin and John and Pamelia Cleary; her brothers, Skip (Toni), Mark (Debbie) Cleary and baby bubba, Fred (Shelley) Melin the third; her sister, Colleen (Mel) Smith; and her many supportive in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins along with her band of mixed nuts and many friends.

Cookie adored her six grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashley Pinegar, Ryder and Adalyn Nielsen and William and Caroline Abel.

Everyone loved Cookie and Cookie loved everyone. Her smile was inviting and warm. She had many friends at Peaks Fitness and loved the town of Fountain Hills.

She loved hiking, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Cookie was raised in Roseville Mich., graduated in 1975 from Carl Brablec High School and married Mike in 1977. She then started her chosen career as a wife and mother. She excelled at raising three amazing daughters and took pride in their accomplishments. Her reward was being blessed with six perfect grandchildren whom she loved more than life itself. Cookie was a bright ray of light that will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A celebration of life will take place at Unity of Phoenix on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m.

The family would like to recognize Hospice of the Valley for their caring support.
