Trinity Lutheran members aid in respite project

Posted

Members of Trinity Lutheran Church were busy cooking sloppy joes and preparing sack lunches containing chips, bananas and cookies for some 200 participants at the Grace Lutheran Church respite project in Phoenix.

The team prepared the lunches, delivered and served them.

Grace Lutheran Church is the oldest Lutheran church in Arizona that each year provides a cool place for those seeking refuge from the heat, as well as a safe space for building community through the sharing of meals, water, activities and community resources.

β€œIt was a labor of love,” said Debbie Olson, team coordinator.

The team agreed that happy smiles and heartfelt compliments for serving the delicious meals were thanks that made for warm hearts.

Trinity Lutheran Church invites the public to its 9 a.m. Sunday service, followed by fellowship and refreshments.
