Trinity Lutheran Church pastor Tom Daly answered a call from Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City.
The local congregation honored him at an Aug. 18 brunch after the 9 a.m. service, the last sermon that he delivered after 14 years leading the congregation.
Daly will be installed at the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 15630 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, at 3 p.m., Sept. 22.
Minister friends of the local church will temporarily deliver sermons. The elders are pursuing a pastor to serve on an interim basis for a longer period until a permanent pastor is called.
During Daly’s time here, Trinity Lutheran was transformed with a drive-up project, an added shade structure, internal upgrades and creation of the columbarium.
Daly was born in Tucson and raised in the West Valley. His parents were both dance instructors with Arthur Murray, and his father was the owner of the dance studio in Phoenix.
Daly attended seminary at Fort Wayne, Indiana, and received his first call to serve a congregation in Western New York, south of Buffalo in 1984. He later served four different congregations in Central Illinois.
He was called to Trinity Lutheran in December 2005. The church is located at 13770 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.
