Mayor-elect Ginny Dickey is continuing her “Town Talk Tuesdays” with a session dedicated to listening to Fountain Hills residents. Dickey said she hopes to hear about town issues from residents at the Community Center on Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
Dickey said she aims to stay true to her campaign theme of “moving forward together with shared purpose, inclusion and transparency.” Councilmen-elect Mike Scharnow and Dave Spelich will be on hand, as well as newly-seated Councilwoman Sherry Leckrone and any other interested community members or elected officials who are willing to contribute ideas and pitch in to face the challenges affecting the community.
Topics may include finances, infrastructure, overall expectations from a municipality, etc. Dickey said she is anxious to gain this insight and the community’s help when she begins her term as mayor at the Dec. 4 council meeting.
Dickey’s Town Talk events began this past February and included topics such as, “A shared vision for our community,” “The role of mayor/council, town manager and staff,” “How to vote by mail – what to do and when” and “Building strong partnerships in and around town.”
“Town Talk Tuesdays events demonstrated that open sharing of ideas and concerns with residents is a pathway to achieving goals and community understanding; it is a way to establish trust in decision-making,” Dickey said. “Continuing the Town Talk Tuesdays format is a way to engage citizens in constructive dialogue benefiting everyone.”
All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
