When the Town Council meets next Tuesday, Oct. 16, Sherry Leckrone will be sworn in as the newest member to fill the seat vacated with the resignation of Cecil Yates last summer (see separate story).
The council will also hear an update from staff related to discussion on use of lost pet signs. In September, the council directed staff to meet with local pet rescue groups to consider regulations that would allow use of signs during pet searches.
The council will also consider a contract with Dixie Green Promotions to present the Fountain Hills Farmers Market on Avenue of the Fountains through the winter months.
There is also consideration of a $150,000 agreement with Kompan, Inc. for the purchase of playground equipment in conjunction with Four Peaks Park improvements.
The council will consider the appointment of two individuals to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The auditing firm of Heinfeld Meech & Co. will present the FY 17-18 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
There will also be an update on the tourism program and implementation of the Tourism Strategic Plan.
Mayor Linda Kavanagh will read a proclamation declaring the week of Oct. 21-28 Arizona Cities and Towns Week.
The Town Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.
