The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has extended an air pollution advisory for ozone levels in the Valley for Saturday, June 15.

High pressure and warming temperatures will combine to increase ozone pollution in the Valley. It is expected to approach standards that are unsafe for sensitive individuals.

Active children, adults and people with lung disease such as asthma should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.

The advisory also triggers the Maricopa County air quality restrictions banning wood burning fires, commercial use of landscape leaf blowers and off-road recreation.
