A dedicated passport office opened earlier this year at 1776 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.

While walk-ins are welcome, in most cases when applying for a passport for the first time, a person should setup an appointment by visiting USPS.com. An appointment also is suggested to renew an existing passport that is not eligible by mail or applying for a child under age 16 or a teenager between 16 and 17 years of age.

The normal wait time to receive a passport is four to six weeks. Expedited service within two to three weeks is possible.

The office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with the office closed from 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch.

The office handles updating information on existing passports, purchasing additional pages or reporting a passport lost or stolen.

Passport photo services and forms are available on-site and you can fill out applications at travel.state.gov.
