Posted

Tom and Tina Duffy recently hosted a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Mary Ellen and Robert McKee Branch, with community members, clubs, organizations and more coming together to raise $84,000 for the local branch.

“I am so very thankful to all of the over 200 attendees and also to all of the incredible sponsors who supported this event,” Tina said. “When we first started this event nine years ago we raised $6,700 and this year we raised $84,000, which is up $30,000 from two years ago.”

The event was hosted out of the Duffy’s home and featured dinner, live auction, live entertainment and more.

“I couldn't have done it without the incredible help from Rennetta Brown; she is truly amazing,” Tina said. “We so loved having The Red Weddings from La Jolla, Calif. [Caitlin Evanson and Pedro Talarico] play some fabulous music throughout the night.”

Tina said she also wanted to thank the restaurants and businesses that donated their food for the event, including AJ’s Fine Foods, Chocofin Chocolatier, Flo’s, Grassroots Kitchen and Tap, Sofrita and Sapori D’Italia.

“I also want to thank Mark Trembly Professional Photography for taking such beautiful pictures at the event,” Tina added. “All of the sponsors were unbelievable! That is where we raised most of our money from the event. The rest were ticket sales and live auction.”

The Duffy’s thanked Mary Ellen and Robert McKee, the Title sponsor for the event, as well as Linda and Dennis Kester, the band sponsor.

Table sponsors included Vonage/Clark Peterson, Michael and Alisha Baer, Adakai Holdings, Fred and Barb Hansen, Verne C. Johnson Foundation/Dwight and Laura Johnson, John and Linda Kavanagh, Simer and Vicki Mayo, Traci Poulson, Rennetta Brown and Stephen Winchell, United Healthcare, Sami Fine Jewelry, Prokure Solutions and Tony and Sandy Pistilli.

Auction and raffle sponsors included Zuzu Restaurant Hotel Valley Ho, Richman Media Group, Phoenix Suns, The Phoenician, Sami Fine Jewelry, Sarah Kannenberg, Prestige Cleaners, Firerock Country Club, Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, Copperwynd Resort, AZ. Trails Travel/ Hank and Roxanne Boryczki, The Inn at Rancho Bernardo, Janet Caldarelli and Arizona Coyotes.

Trudy Dawson Hahn and Cal Hahn were the Year of the Girl Sponsor/State Youth of the Year Sponsor, Todd Jones and Tammy Honnas were the Celebrating Music Sponsor, Chasse Building Team/Barry and Rikki Chasse were the Celebrating Arts Sponsor, Tiffany and Bosco/Mark Bosco were the Napkin Sponsor, Jerry and Jackie Miles were Wine Glass Sponsor and Vonage/Clark Peterson were the Valet Sponsor.

The event’s Dream Maker Sponsors were Spirit of Life/Rennetta Brown, Phil and Carol Gaziano, Sandi Thompson and Norm Nominee, Mitch Stravitz, Peter and Claudia Stesiak, Hellene Runtagh, Steadfast Construction, Jay Schlum/ReMax Sun Properties, Bob and Arlene Leach, Bercel Builders, Danielle Ford, Senator Dennis and Patty DeConcini and Sonoran Lifestyle Real Estate/Dori Wittrig.

Sami Fine Jewelry also donated 150 silver necklaces with The Boys and Girls Club emblem designed by Sami for the event. The Duffy’s also wanted to thank Latest Craze Productions for doing all of the sound and lighting for the event.

“As we have done in the past we will be taking a year off but are looking forward to doing it again in 2020,” Tina said. “We are so grateful for the branch we have in our town and hope that all of you continue to support it. Thank you.”
