After a rather dampish for the desert 10 inches or so of rain in Fountain Hills for 2018, the new year is continuing with raindrops falling on our head.
January rainfall totals for the town settled right around one inch for the month. Fountain Park recorded 1.14 inch.
The Maricopa County Flood Control District rain gauges scattered around town received similar amounts. Hesperus Wash out near Dixie Mine in McDowell Mountain Park received 1.06 inch. The monitoring site on Golden Eagle Boulevard at the water tank just inside Eagles Nest recorded 1.02 inch.
The Cloudburst Wash site at the Adero Canyon Trailhead collected .98 inch, as did the SunRidge Canyon Dam location.
At Fountain Hills Fire Station #1 on Palisades Boulevard near downtown, the rain gauge received .94 inch.
The monitors at the Hesperus, North Heights and Stoneridge dam locations all collected the same .91 inch.
