Firefighters are battling a desert wildfire near Cave Creek and adjacent to Cave Creek Regional Park.
The fire started early afternoon Sunday, May 17, and while it died down some overnight it had grown to 1,500 acres by mid-morning on Monday, May 18.
About 400 firefighters are on the scene and being managed by an Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire command.
There is a concern about high winds in the forecast for the coming days. Fuel is light brush and grasses.
