Council to talk 'Nichols' naming
Posted
The Town Council will consider naming a section of the plaza on Avenue of the Fountain for the late Mayor Wally Nichols when it meets next in regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Earlier this year the council agreed to segment the plaza into sections that could be renamed appropriately for town dignitaries.
The first such section on the east end has been named for former Mayor Sharon Morgan.
Also on the agenda for Sept. 18 is consideration of a $1 million intergovernmental agreement with Maricopa County.
The agreement is for the exchange of services in the amount of $200,000 per year over five years.
The council will consider the appointment of one individual to a seat on the Sister Cities Advisory Commission for a term through June 18, 2021.
The council has scheduled a discussion with possible direction to staff related to a floodplain delineation study for Ashbrook and Cloudburst washes.
The Town Council will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
