When the Town Council meets next week on Tuesday, Sept. 15, it may be making an appointment to fill an unanticipated vacancy within its ranks.
According to Town Manager Grady Miller Councilwoman Sherry Leckrone resigned her post after she unexpectedly had to move out of town.
The council met Tuesday, Sept. 8, in an executive session to discuss options for filling the vacancy with the town attorney.
Republic Services is scheduled to make a presentation to the council to update its residential and commercial services during the pandemic and to schedule the resumption of curbside bulk pick-up in Fountain Hills.
There will be a presentation regarding a National Weather Service “Storm Ready” designation for the town.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Capt. Larry Kratzer will give an update on activity by the Sheriff’s Office in Fountain Hills.
The council will also consider a Zoning Ordinance regarding a planned shopping center overlay district. There will also be an ordinance amendment regarding mini-storage zoning.
The Town Council will meet for its next regular session on Tuesday, Sept. 25, in council chambers at Town Hall at 5:30 p.m.
