Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle early in the morning Tuesday, March 19, and recovered it later in the afternoon when the alleged thief returned it.

MCOS Capt. Larry Kratzer said deputies received the report at about 3:30 a.m. to a residence in the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Way. They report the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in a duffle bag inside, and there was also a firearm in the bag.

Shortly after 3 p.m. the owner saw the vehicle being returned to his residence and detained the woman driving until deputies arrived. The vehicle was damaged by graffiti and the firearm was missing. The suspect was booked for theft of a means of transportation.

*On Tuesday, March 5, deputies received a report of a hit and run on private property in a shopping center parking lot. The victim went into the grocery store and returned to find someone had struck the driver side door. There is no suspect information.

*On Tuesday, March 5, at about 3 p.m. deputies received a report that a vehicle window was broken out while it was being driven on Fountain Hills Blvd. The driver told deputies he recalls seeing a flash and the window breaking. He also believes he heard something whiz past his head. He told deputies he believes he was shot at. Deputies investigating were unable to find evidence of a shooting at the scene.

*On Monday, March 4, at about 2:30 p.m. deputies received a report that someone had struck a parked vehicle along Verde River Drive and left the scene without providing contact information.

*On Sunday, March 3, a resident of the 15400 block of Richwood Ave. reported someone spray painted red on landscaping at the home.

*Sunday, March 3, 5:15 p.m., burglary at residence, 13600 block of Bittersweet Way.

*Tuesday, March 5, 11:19 a.m., theft, 16700 block of Avenue of the Fountains (missing MCSO radio).

*Wednesday, March 6, 11:45 a.m., residential burglary, 14600 Armijo Drive.

*Thursday, March 7, 1:06 p.m., criminal damage, 11000 block of Saguaro Blvd.

*Friday, March 8, 3:36 p.m., theft, 12800 block of Via Del Sol.

*Saturday, March 9, 7:11 p.m., criminal damage, 16800 block of Avenue of the Fountains.
