Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a transient man on Friday, May 31, on aggravated assault charges after he allegedly struck another transient man in the head with a pipe.

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of La Montana Drive about 5:30 p.m. and found the two had gotten into a verbal argument when the suspect allegedly struck the other man.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was booked into jail.

*Detectives are investigating a reported burglary at a business in the 16000 block of Laser Drive on Sunday, May 26. Deputies said the suspect(s) drilled out a lock in the door to gain entry. The owner estimated loss of property to be approximately $100,000. The investigation is continuing.

*On Tuesday, May 28, deputies arrested a suspect in the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. after he was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. There was also an outstanding warrant for the suspect. This investigation is continuing.

*Deputies also picked up four other suspects on outstanding warrants. One individual was arrested in the 14000 block of Cerro Alto Drive on May 26. Two suspects were turned over to deputies by Fort McDowell Police on May 27, and a fourth was arrested in the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. on May 28.

*On Friday, May 24, a resident of the 13000 block of Saguaro Blvd. reported someone forced entry into his vehicle and stole several items. This is a continuing investigation.

*On Thursday, May 23, an unknown person called Fountain Hills residents claiming to be agents of the IRS with the objective of obtaining personal identification information.

*On Friday, May 24, a resident reported that someone had obtained their credit card and used it to make unauthorized purchases. This investigation is continuing.

*On Saturday, May 25, a victim of a burglary called to report that a handgun reported stolen had been found in their residence.

*On Saturday, May 25, a resident of the area of Oxford Drive and Saguaro Blvd. reported the theft of a laptop computer. This investigation is continuing.

*On Tuesday, May 28 a resident of the 19000 block of Mountain View Court reported several watches stolen from their residence.

*On Wednesday, May 29, deputies received a report that between May 13 and May 23 someone stole mail out of a mailbox in the 16000 block of Bainbridge Ave. This investigation is continuing.

*On Tuesday, May 28 someone broke a window out of a vehicle parked in the area of the 11000 block of Aguilar Drive. This investigation is continuing.

*On Saturday, May 25, a resident of the 17000 block of Sonoran Way returned to his home and found a door open. An inspection of the home found nothing missing.

*On Sunday, May 26, deputies investigated a non-injury collision at El Pueblo and Fountain Hills boulevards. There were no injuries.
