During the week of June 20 and June 26, Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in 268 contact and 37 reports were taken, including a pair of thefts reported on June 22.

The reports took place in the 11800 block of Saguaro, where the first victim had her purse stolen from a table she was sitting at when she walked away for a few minutes.

A second victim reported her wallet had been stolen from the table she was sitting at with some friends. This victim did not realize her wallet was missing until the next day.

*Another theft was reported on June 22 in the 10200 block of Nicklaus. The victim reported that their hot tub cover had been stolen sometime between June 7 and June 22.

*On June 24, in the 15300 block of Thistle, a complainant reported receiving dozens of scam phone calls over the past few months. No loss has been reported as a result of these calls, but the complainant wanted to notify the authorities in order to get them on record and serve as a warning to others.

*A cell phone was reported stolen from a countertop in the 16700 block of Parkview. The victim reported their attention had been diverted for several minutes when the phone was stolen.

*At around 2 p.m. on June 22 in the 9600 block of Monterey, a subject was observed on surveillance footage removing a decorative fountain from a business.

*A case of identity theft was reported in the 16700 block of Avenue of the Fountains on June 26. The victim came to the MCSO substation to notify deputies someone had opened several credit cards in her name, which were then used to make unauthorized purchases. The victim was alerted to this through a credit monitoring program.

*On June 26, in the 15700 block of Tumbleweed Drive, a victim observed a yellow dye-like substance on their yard, driveway, gate and vehicle, which caused damage to the gate and vehicle.

*A death was reported in the 14800 block of Shea the evening of June 26. MCSO is conducting an investigation as a potential suicide.

*A DUI was reported on June 23 at Shea and Fountain Hills Boulevards. The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation and the driver was believed to be under the influence of alcohol while driving. Charges are pending blood analysis.

Another DUI was reported on June 25 at Shea and Saguaro Boulevards. A witness called in that a man was in a vehicle and appeared to be unresponsive and stopped at the intersection. Investigation resulted in the driver believed to be impaired by alcohol, with charges pending blood analysis.

*An elderly subject struck a parked vehicle and was unaware of the accident. The event is reported as a hit and run vehicle accident with no injury, taking place on June 21 in the 14800 block of Shea Boulevard. There was minor damage to both vehicles.

*On June 24, in the 16500 block of Palisades, a victim reported her vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked at a business. The collision caused damage to the front driver-side quarter panel and bumper.

*A single vehicle accident on private property was reported in the 13200 block of Saguaro on June 21. The driver struck a concrete pillar and no injuries were reported.
