Virtual library convention will celebrate fandoms

Maricopa County Library District is celebrating fandoms this month in the form of a virtual LibraryCon.

To help with the celebration, patrons are invited to send their best photos of cosplay, costumes or makeup, an at-home fan collection or shrine, an epic book collection or fan art.

Photos can feature anything from heroes, villains, book characters, pets, family, makeup and more. The purpose is to showcase what makes fans love their fandom.

Photos will be used to create galleries that will be shared throughout mcldaz.org/subject/library/con.

Starting Sept. 14, on-demand events, gaming tournaments, a digital escape room and other activities will be featured.

LibraryCon continues through Sept. 28. Library-Con Online is a virtual festival for book nerds, fans of graphic novels, sci-fi and fantasy.
