Fountain Hills resident, Scott Hallock, will perform with his Tom Petty Tribute Band, Learning to Fly, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at BLK Live in Scottsdale. The band’s drummer, Jon Cagguila, is also from Fountain Hills.

This is a special performance honoring the one-year anniversary of Tom Petty’s passing, a great loss to the music world, but his music will live on through tribute bands like Learning to Fly. Last May, many Fountain Hills residents attended the debut concert of Learning to Fly at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. This performance at BLK Live is a two-hour show and will feature 28 Tom Petty songs, including many of his greatest hits. Hallock has been listening to and playing Tom Petty music since the late ‘70s and said he considers it an honor to pay tribute to him on this special occasion.

BLK Live is a unique outdoor venue with pool, bar and restaurant areas where you can eat, drink, swim, listen and dance. It is located at 7301 E. Butherus Dr., Scottsdale, behind the Scottsdale Quarter mall. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available at BLKLIVEAZ.COM or at the door. All ages are welcome.
