It’s spring, and Fountain Hills Community Chorus is in the spirit of the season.

The group will offer a musical journey across America Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8, at the Community Center. Both programs start at 4 p.m.

Recognizable songs of Americana including “My Old Kentucky Home” and “Shenandoah,” “Polly Wolly Doodle” and “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” will take the audience back to their childhood.

They will enjoy the beautiful “Homeland.” set to Jupiter’s Themefrom Gustav Holst’s The Planets, and “O America,” recorded by Celtic Woman.

Chorus Director Matthew Frable invites the audience to “come travel with us as we take a trip, hearing songs from across America. The concert will be an afternoon filled with enjoyable music: from thoughtful reflections on our country to peppy, upbeat, knee-slapping folk songs.”

Advanced purchase tickets are $15and are available at The Fountain Hills Theater, Cards of Fountain Hills (formerly Card$mart) and Phil’s Filling Station, or from any chorus member. Cash and checks are accepted.

On the days of the performances, tickets will be available at the door for $17, based on availability.
