Paul R. Fry
Former Jackson, Mich. area realtor Paul R. Fry passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Overgaard, Ariz. after a short illness.
Born Jan. 31, 1919 in Hillsdale County, Mich. to parents Forest and Lucille Fry, Paul would have been 93 on his upcoming birthday.
Paul graduated from Jackson High School, later marrying his wife of 55 years, Dorothy E. Rickerman, on June 21, 1941. Paul joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944 and served in Guam until the war ended.
Returning to civilian life he worked many years for Standard Oil Company before starting his own real estate agency, Fry Town & County Realty, which was located in Michigan Center.
After several busy years he retired in Fountain Hills and later moving to Payson where he has lived since 2004.
Paul and Dorothy raised their six children in Jackson where he leaves wonderful memories with all who knew and loved him.
Paul was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; his son, John Henry Fry; and his two sisters, Beverly Fry and Alice Fry Mandregor.
He will be dearly missed by daughters, Marguerite (Tom) Terryah of Overgaard, Paulette (Harry) Weaver of Payson and Marianne (Bill) Young of Alpine, Calif. Paul’s sons are P. William (Sandy) Fry of Rives Junction, Mich. and Thomas (Cindy) Fry of Jackson. His sister, Juanita (Dick) Meng, reside in West Covina, Calif.
Mr. Fry had 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren scattered about Michigan, California, Arizona, North Carolina and Washington.
Memorial services will be held in Michigan Center at the Rose City American Legion Hall at a later date. There will be a celebration-of-life ceremony held for Paul in La Jolla, Calif. on Sunday, Jan. 29.
