Mary Nickum, candidate for Fountain Hills Town Council, reveals her true ideology in this statement: “Raising taxes must be avoided unless no other option can be found” (Times, 1/18/12).

This declaration sums up the progressive mantra of other liberals, like Nancy Pelosi, who consider “cutting spending” in the budget as an incomprehensible form of mathematical hieroglyphics.

Increased spending and raising taxes should come as no surprise to Fountain Hills voters who are well aware of Ms. Nickum’s liberal causes and progressive views: Obama care, Planned Parenthood, People against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and MoveOn.org.

I cannot believe that any of these views represent the mainstream thinking in our town.

Further, my family and sleep better at night knowing we have the greatest defender of freedom, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and his deputies watching out for us.

As to MoveOn.org and George Soros: Keep out of Maricopa County with your well-funded organization of corruption and out of our lives. We are awake and know what you stand for – “Socialism ala Sorosism.”

A vote for Mary Nickum is a vote for what Americans fear most by a 2-1 margin – another four years of increased taxes, unconstitutional handouts and, sadly, the palpable fear of the further demise of the greatest country on earth.
