Last week I submitted a brief caption and photo for Fountain Spouts, which was published.

I know that it is customary to obtain permission from the principles in a picture submitted to a paper. Having submitted a few articles with pictures in the past, I am confident that The Times assumed I had received permission.

I omitted that step last week and I sincerely apologize for that oversight.
