Real asset

I would like to publicly thank Lina Bellenir for her service on the Neighborhood Property Owners’ Association (NPOA) board of directors during the past eight months.

As anyone who has worked with Lina on any project knows, her unfailingly positive attitude and great sense of humor are a delight.

Her extensive business experience, long legal background and common-sense approach to problem solving have greatly benefited the board and the association. Her consistently high ethical standards and conscientiousness have been an inspiration.

As secretary of the NPOA, she has kept a meticulous account of board activities. In chairing the member outreach committee, she has done outstanding work to publicize the association.

When the NPOA was formed in 1992, our town was small -- most people knew about the association and many knew their NPOA delegates personally. Over the ensuing 20 years, as the town has grown and properties have changed hands, it has become a challenge for the NPOA to keep member homeowners aware of their membership and of how it benefits them.

It was Lina who proposed that the NPOA participate in the town’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, join the Chamber of Commerce, host a holiday home lighting contest for members.  And it is Lina who has proposed some of the member-outreach projects that the association will undertake in the months ahead, such as a members picnic, home staging demonstration, workshops on xeriscape landscaping and how to choose exterior paint colors in a desert setting. She has been a veritable fountain of creative ideas!

What a privilege it has been for me, and for all the NPOA board and staff, to work with Lina Bellenir. How very fortunate the association is to have benefited from her participation.

Thank you, Lina.
