Campaign contributions

Four of the five candidates for Town Council have each spent more than $3,000 on their campaigns.

According to pre-primary campaign finance reports that were due by Feb. 25, incumbent Councilwoman Ginny Dickey had spent the most, $3,946, and she has also raised the most, $5,600 for her campaign.

Challenger Tait Elkie has raised $4,475 and spent $3,355 on his campaign to unseat one of the three incumbents.

The other two incumbents, Mike Archambault and Henry Leger have also spent more than $3,000.  Leger has spent $3,655, and Archambault $3,109.

In major contributions, Archambault received a $410 donation from Margo Fox and $300 from former Mayor Wally Nichols. He also received $50 from former Councilman Ed Kehe. Archambault has raised a total of $4,113.

Dickey received two $410 donations, one from Tucson resident Pam Grissiom and Karen Mask of Fountain Hills. Dickey has also received nearly $300 in contributions from her husband, Jim.

Dickey also reported $1,000 in total donations from two PAC organizations, Arizona List, which according to its Web site, supports women candidates for public office, and the UFCW, the local food workers union.

Elkie has received financial support from the principals in MCO Properties. He received $350 contributions from company president Jeremy Hall, CEO Shawn Hurwitz and director Charles Hurwitz.

Leger has put $4,100 of his own money into his campaign coffers. He also received a single $50 contribution from former Councilman Ed Kehe.

Hugh Henry has received a total of $90 in donations greater than $25 from individuals. He also reported receiving a total of $54 in cash from four individuals giving less than $25.

Henry has raised a total of $895 and has spent $651. He has also used his own money to cover expenses.
