However disappointed, I am not surprised by all of the negative energy, libelous statements and personal attacks by friends and supporters of their (come on, ask your self, “Who’s behind this?”) only remaining council candidate, Dennis Contino. But it didn’t work in the primary and it won’t work in this general election either.
The results of the recent mayoral election have again demonstrated that these orchestrated attacks are only temporary distractions and not an effective campaign strategy.
During the primary election, attempts at discrediting a candidate proved that residents don’t respond well to this type of politics. We want positive, visionary candidates and their citizen-driven leadership. It is the dawn of a new era for Fountain Hills and it is a bright future that we will enjoy with constructive, not divisive, leadership.
I am confident that we will elect the right person to fill the last council seat. I am positive that the new courageous and hopeful leadership that we have recently elected to represent us will continue to move us forward.
The bitter naysayers, the angry old guard, and the special interest crowd will continue to do and say things that attempt to fracture, to tear down and to undermine our town’s progress.
Don’t forget to vote….and let’s continue to demonstrate to all those that spew misstatements, half-truths, promote negative campaigns and unfounded accusations that honesty and integrity are important characteristics – even in politics. Vote for Mike Tyler.
