Moisture from the recent tropical storm that pushed through Arizona and the Valley over the past several days left behind between 1.25 to 2.09 inches of rain across Fountain Hills. While there was dirt and debris washed into the streets and in some places sidewalks to be cleaned up, there was no significant damage or flooding reported by officials.
The Flood Control District of Maricopa County has eight rainfall monitoring stations scattered across Fountain Hills to check on the amount of rain to project the potential of flooding through the numerous washes that run out of the McDowell Mountains and through town.
The rain gauge at the top of Cloudburst Wash near the Adero Canyon Trailhead collected 2.09 inches for rainfall over the course of the storm. Another 2 inches fell in Hesperus Wash near the northwest boundary of Fountain Hills and McDowell Mountain Park.
