Our Congressman, David Schweikert, has been a leader in trying to find innovative ways to make our country better, and while Congress has been negotiating this Big Beautiful Bill, I hope that the congressman will fight to include a bill that I know he has been passionate about.
The Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Screening Coverage Act will allow seniors on Medicare to get screened for dozens and dozens of cancers through these new non-invasive screening methods that are being developed in the biotech industry. The congressman has been the first co-sponsor of this bill among his colleagues in Arizona, and I know that it's been something he has long fought for.
The reality is that Republicans are going to be looking for wins when it comes to healthcare, given all these threats of cuts to Medicaid and other social services. Passing the MCED Act, either on its own or in the Big Beautiful Bill, will go a long way with the American public. Not only that, but it will literally save lives.
