Fountain Hills: Sheriff's call log

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation in Fountain Hills reports that deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Feb. 22, through Wednesday, Feb. 28.

Thursday, Feb. 22

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where a subject reported criminal damage to a vehicle in a business parking lot. Upon investigation deputies determined there was no damage to the vehicle, and no crime had been committed.

Friday, Feb. 23

*A resident of the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. reported an unknown subject attempted to scam them via phone by claiming they were holding a family member hostage and demanding a ransom.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where a criminal damage incident was reported at a business. The victim was unwilling to aid in prosecution.

Saturday, Feb. 24

*Deputies responded to Saguaro and Shea boulevards where a traffic collision occurred after a vehicle failed to yield while making a left turn. No injuries were reported, no vehicles were towed from the scene.

*A lost phone was turned in to MCSO in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains. The phone was entered into property and evidence as found property.

Sunday, Feb. 25

*Deputies responded to Shea and Fountain Hills boulevards for a traffic collision that occurred after a vehicle ran a red light while making a left turn. No injuries were reported. Vehicles were towed from the scene.

*It was reported that an unknown subject broke the window of a vehicle and took items from inside the vehicle while it was parked in a residential parking lot in the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains.

*A resident of the 14000 block of Yerba Buena Way reported a violation of a court order.

*A resident of the 14000 block of Edgeworth Drive reported that a window of a residence was damaged by unknown means.

Monday, Feb. 26

*Deputies responded to Saguaro and Grande boulevards. A hit and run traffic collision occurred when a vehicle struck a pedestrian that was crossing the road in a crosswalk and fled the area. No injury was reported.

*A resident of the 15000 block of Cactus Wren Court reported that they received notice from the IRS that their tax return could not be completed because a tax return had already been filed with the victim’s name and Social Security number. No suspect information was available.

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Shea Boulevard at Arista Lane. The driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 75 mile per hour where the speed limit is 50. The driver was issued a criminal citation and released.

*Deputies receive a report that an unknown subject took the victim’s wallet after it was inadvertently left on a park bench in the 12000 block of Saguaro Blvd.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. reported that an unknown subject broke into their vehicle and damaged the steering column while it was parked at a residence.

*Deputies responded to Stone View Trail and Eagle Ridge Drive where subjects protesting the construction of a public safety training facility in Georgia. Subjects trespassed and committed disorderly conduct by seriously disruptive behavior when they blocked the entrance and exit to a gated residential community. The subjects placed homemade barricades and their bodies in the roadway and tampered with the community gates to prevent them from opening. The subjects also resisted arrest when they passively resisted deputies attempting to remove them from the property. Three subjects were arrested and booked into jail.

*Deputies responded to the 16000 block of Palisades Blvd. where a subject was trespassed from a business.

*A resident of the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. reported that an unknown subject entered a residential garage and took items valued at approximately $500.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

*Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Indian Wells Drive where it was reported that an unknown subject stole a golf bag with clubs valued at approximately $3,000 from a golf course.

*Deputies made a traffic stop at El Lago and Fountain Hills boulevards. A driver was stopped for failure to maintain lane and a DUI investigation was initiated after contact with the driver. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

*A resident of the 16000 block of La Montana Drive reported that an unknown subject used their personal information in multiple attempts to open credit accounts.
