Local resident and volunteer trailblazer with the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills, Scott Grzybowski, has been selected as NASA Solar System Ambassador.
Residents may have seen Grzybowski on Saturday mornings on one of the McDowell Mountain Preserve trails performing maintenance. He is adding another volunteer duty to his resume to keep the community informed on current or future NASA Missions.
Grzybowski has over 30 years of experience in government and commercial industries. He has a broad range of abilities including software engineering, project management, business development, service in the United States Navy, community volunteerism and serving with volunteer fire and emergency medical service (EMS).
Grzybowski retired from the US Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 with over 30 years of service. He has earned his master’s certificate in project management and a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences. He also holds numerous other certificates and credentials.
Grzybowski is now one of four NASA Solar System Ambassadors living in Fountain Hills. The others are Ted Blank, Dave Perry and Denny Robertson.
The NASA Solar System Ambassadors program is a public engagement effort that works with motivated volunteers across the nation to communicate the science and excitement of NASA’s space exploration missions and discoveries with people in their communities. Ambassadors throughout the country are selected by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory based on their backgrounds and on their plans for public outreach activities. JPL provides ambassadors with educational materials and training. The opinions of Ambassadors are not necessarily those of NASA or JPL.
