Pape: Helping our community with tax credits

Posted

What a great article in the recent Fountain Hills Times Independent concerning tax credit programs available in Arizona.

As a volunteer helping the Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation, I was amazed as I contacted tax preparers in Fountain Hills to learn that only about 25% of our citizens take advantage of the Arizona Tax Credits when they file their state income tax returns. Why would anyone pay taxes to the state when they can re-direct their taxes into our wonderful community?

We rarely get to contribute to a worthwhile organization and not have to pay anything. In addition to the school tax credit, I would encourage everyone to contribute their state income tax dollars to a qualified charitable organization in Fountain Hills. Of course, I am biased regarding the Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation, which has as its mission to help the neediest in Fountain Hills.

It just makes good sense to help our community, especially when it does not cost us a dime. Go to FHCTCF.org to learn more about tax credits and our local Fountain Hills Community Tax Credit Foundation.
