The Fountain Hills Friends of the Library (FHFL) and the Town of Fountain Hills are sponsoring a free document shredding event.

It will be held in the Fountain Hills High School parking lot Saturday, April 20, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Attendees are asked to enter the parking lot from North Hampstead Drive.

Shredding rules

There is a three-box limit per vehicle and items must be bagged or boxed, free of rubber bands and hard clips.

Shreddable items include bank statements, legal documents, personal correspondence and medical records (excluding x-rays).

Non-shreddable items include newspapers, magazines, junk mail, hard-cover or hanging file folders, three-ring binders and plastics.

Shredding is free and donations are accepted. Gifts allow the FHFL to provide the Fountain Hills Library with summer and winter reading programs, book clubs, two post-secondary scholarships, library furnishings and technology and Front Porch Performances and Storyteller events.
