Botanical Garden seeks volunteers

The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden is looking for volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.

The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.

Rotary Club of Fountain Hills talk inside baseball

The Fountain Hills Rotary Club will host Susan Ricci, the curator of the Mesa Historical Museum who will present the history and evolution of the Cactus League Tuesday, April 19.

Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Fountain Hills Men’s Discussion Group convenes

The Fountain Hills Men’s Discussion Group will convene April 22 when Michael Roldan, manager of municipal services for Republic Services will discuss trash recycling.

The Fountain Hills Men’s Discussion Group meets every Monday at 10 a.m. at the Community Center. Pre-registration is required for all presentations. The programs are free for Community Center members or $5 for non-members.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers

Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.

Al-Anon holds regular meetings

Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.

The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.

Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.

Community Center contract bridge winners posted

Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.

Winners from April 5 include Max Love in first place, Doug Stewart in second place and Jina R. Davis in third place.

Winners from April 10 include Clifford Kind in first place, Gerd Brinkman in second place and Max Love in third place.
