Cross country and football wrap up season
Posted
The high school fall sports season came to a close over the weekend with both the cross country and football teams taking part in their respective state tournaments on Saturday, Nov. 8.
The cross country team hit the course midday at the Cave Creek Golf Course, competing in a field of 60-plus teams. The girls managed to take 14th place overall with the boys finishing the season in 19th.
As for the football squad, a tough opponent and some unfortunate injuries meant that the team's post-season campaign would end in the opening round of the state tournament. The Falcons played against number three River Valley Saturday evening, going on to lose 60-14.
