The Town Council will consider an agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation for a construction and shoulder paving project along Fountain Hills Boulevard.
The approximately $400,000 project is being funded partially with a federal aid grant through the Maricopa Association of Governments ($255,000), with the remaining funding ($141,000) from the town’s Capital Improvement Fund.
The project has been budgeted for the current fiscal year.
A second IGA being considered by the council this week is for a bicycle lane on the eastbound side of Shea Boulevard between Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards.
The town budget this fiscal year includes $651,000 for this project with $440,000 in grant funding and $211,000 in CIP funds from the town.
The council consent agenda includes an IGA with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation for distribution of Prop 202 funding from Fort McDowell.
This year the Yavapai Nation has allocated $30,000 for distribution to Fountain Hills agencies. The Golden Eagle Education Foundation will receive $10,000; the Convention and Visitors Bureau has been allocated $5,000; The River of Time Museum will receive $5,000; and the Boys and Girls Club is to get $10,000.
The Town Council will meet Thursday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
