Board to discuss Aister case in closed session

Posted

The Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board will meet in executive session Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. to discuss personnel matters pertaining to local educator, Pam Aister.

Aister was recently the subject of a public hearing to discuss an incident which took place on the Four Peaks/Middle School campus last school year. Aister's comments to students were brought into question, and both Aister's council and council representing the District presented their sides of the story to a hearing attorney on Sept. 12.

The hearing attorney, Prudence Lee, had a deadline of Sept. 22 to present her findings to the board, as well as a recommendation for possible further disciplinary action.

The board will meet with its own legal council this Thursday to consider further action. Being a personnel matter, this meeting will not be open to the public.

The public will be notified beforehand if the board decides to hold a vote pertaining to the hearing attorney's recommendation concerning Aister.
