The gridiron is calling to weekend warriors throughout Fountain Hills as Community Services announced a brand new 8-on-8 adult flag football league to be held Thursday nights throughout the fall.

Games will be played at Golden Eagle Park field 3, tentatively scheduled for 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m.

The season begins Thursday, Oct. 17, and will run through Dec. 19. No games will be played on Thanksgiving.

The registration deadline is set for Sept. 26 with a mandatory captain meeting on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. The cost per team is $515 to participate.

Players must be at least 18 years of age to participate and the league needs a minimum of four teams to run. Organizers strongly encourage those interested to register as soon as possible in order to guarantee that the league gets up and running.

For those looking to bone up on the rules and regulations, the league will be utilizing the NIRSA Playing Rules with a few alternate rules designated for the town.

These details will be discussed and made available in advance of the season.

Teams may be registered at Town Hall or online at fh.az.gov/recreation. To register by phone or for those with additional questions, contact Anjelica Giardino at 816-5132 or email agiardino@fh.az.gov.
