Tennis courts

Posted

The tennis courts at Golden Eagle Park should be cleaned of debris in the morning before players are arriving and scheduled to play.

When asked if the park employees could blow off the courts first thing, since many players start at 6:30 a.m., the excuses were: we have a lot to do, we trim, we mow, we take care of ball diamonds, we are understaffed, our blower is broken, I have been on vacation, and on and on.

It is a risk for players if they were to trip over the debris. The employee threatened: “If you don’t think it is safe I will close the courts.”

Since taxpayers pay for the courts, and taxpayers pay the employees’ salaries, is it possible that these employees should be reviewed, perhaps trained, perhaps educated so that they could simply understand that it is their job to prioritize the work timely so as to make the park safe for all?
