NPOA issues

Posted

I wish to thank the three members of the NPOA for their responses to my letter published Nov. 11. The information submitted by these three members is very much presented on the NPOA website.

However, I saw nothing from any of the residents I spoke to or anyone not on an NPOA committee.

My points of concern and interest were the following:

1. The neighborhoods not part of the NPOA looked just as good as the ones that are part of the NPOA.

2. Many areas in the NPOA jurisdiction do have weeds and junk on them.

3. The only issue I can see where the NPOA benefits a neighborhood is painting, but I have not seen many homes not part of the association that are painted ugly and some within the NPOA that are not exactly beautiful.

4. Why is it necessary for permits for building when these are also necessary from the town?

I have attempted to visit your office and no one was there with a sign saying I will return at ??

I can understand this with an organization run by volunteers. I do have a great respect for volunteers as I have been one in many capacities throughout my lifetime.

But I have also read in the paper that there are regular hours and heard that the person at the office is not a volunteer and paid well.

My apologies for offending the officers of the NPOA (I suspected this would happen), but my former reaction still stands. I base all of my opinions on what was told to me by residents – not board members.

I have also withheld many negative comments that I feel do not deserve to be repeated as they may be opinions, not fact.
