On behalf of the Marine Corps League Fountain Hills AZ Detachment 1439, I would like to thank all of our 20-plus sponsors, 60-plus golfers and the many volunteers, along with Desert Canyon Golf Club and its staff, for helping us have a successful 2017 Inaugural Golf Tournament!
A portion of the proceeds will be used to support a Marine through the “Wings for Warriors” organization. Your generosity and support helps us to achieve our overall mission to:
*Provide assistance to injured and transitioning Marines through Marines Helping Marines and the Wounded Marines program, which works closely with the Wounded Warrior Regiment.
*Provide youth programs such as physical fitness programs for elementary and high school students, academic scholarships for children of Marines and for former Marines, and supports groups such as Young Marines, Boy Scouts of America and Toys for Tots.
*Provide veteran services such as VA Claims assistance, VA Voluntary Service to supplement staffs at the VA Hospitals and provide legislative oversight at the national and state level.
In our first five months and with your help, the Marine Corps League of Fountain Hills advanced its mission of “Marines Helping Marines.” Through our fundraising programs – Jan. 2017 golf tournament, Dec. 2016 Toys for Tots Christmas gift collection and our Nov. 2016 Marine Rose fundraiser – many lives are changed for the better.
