Right-wing conservative “Christians” have made a mockery of religion. How can anyone take seriously a rant that somehow Jesus would care whether or not Starbucks puts a reindeer on a cup? If your God is that small, you need to seriously examine what you believe in.
But on a much more serious note, conservative right-wing politicians (often in the name of religion) are trying to stop refugees from coming to the U.S., supposedly as a response to the attacks in Paris. The known attackers were all French/Belgium nationals. Are we going to ban anyone with a French passport?
France has taken the moral high road, and says that it will admit 30,000 more refugees. The refugees are people who hate ISIS so much, they risked their lives to escape. And now the U.S. is going to punish them for refusing to cooperate with ISIS?
Not only is it immoral, it makes no sense politically.
Somehow fear-mongering tries to blame refugees for the terror they are fleeing. We are playing right into what ISIS wants by creating fear and hatred of Muslims.
Have these hateful so-called “Christians” forgotten that Jesus was a refugee when his family fled to Egypt with him, have they forgotten that the Bible says that the “stranger should be welcomed?”
Thankfully, we have a President who still believes in American ideals and is trying to stand up for what is right, knowing that we already have a very strong vetting process for all refugees.
The shortest verse in the Bible, “Jesus wept,” applies to thinking Christmas is about a reindeer on a cup or denying families and orphans a home. Shame on you!
