Town thanks

Posted

I recently sent an e-mail to Chaparral City Water Co. to complain about ongoing serious fluctuations in the water pressure. At random times during the day water flow will drop to almost nothing for seconds to minutes at a time (usually when I’m in the shower) and then surge full force.

The situation has been getting steadily worse – those of you who live among the “horse streets” have probably noticed the same – and I wanted to express my displeasure.

To add a bit of gravitas to my e-mail I decided to copy in the mayor and the entire Town Council and added a CC notation to the body of my e-mail to indicate the same. I never expected a reply.

Within minutes I had replies from both Mayor Linda Kavanagh and Councilwoman Ginny Dickey. Mayor Kavanagh writing, “Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will contact Epcor’s community relations representative immediately. I am also meeting with her next week and will follow up at that time to see what has been done. Please keep in touch with me and I will do everything I can to help you.”

Then within the hour the mayor sent, “I have already heard back from the operations manager. They will be putting a data logger on the system in your area to monitor the pressure. They will follow up with me and I will keep you informed.”

I know it is popular to bash our elected representatives. But I also think it’s only fair to say thank you when appropriate. Thank you.
